The students were slightly nervous at the beginning. Pramode Sir started a general introduction and I joined him.
Over to GNUEttan… 🙂
Hiran gave a good introduction to the topic and slowly students began to interact with us. I was really surprised when a 10th std student asked “What is a Kernel?”. Hiran gave a simple but informative answer to his Q.
We stopped giving lectures and moved on to practicals. Students were already familiar with GNU/Linux Desktops through IT@School Project. They were very quick in understanding things and wanted to know more about GNU/Linux.So we decided to introduce command prompt to them. After we taught them a few basic commands, they started experimenting with these commands on their own. Finally we end up with shell scripting :-). They wrote shell scripts to run keyboard LEDs in different patterns.
